A special friend visit - Stella's

The next morning we meandered down to Stella's for breakfast. Often defined as the best breakfast location in Winnipeg, what better place to go for a quick bite on a Sunday AM. When we arrived, the restaurant was absolutely packed with a long line of hungry customers waiting for a table. Despite the line, we were able to be seated in ~15 minutes.

I had previously blogged about Stella's previously. The menu is still as extensive as ever. Today though we decided to focus on the more breakfast/brunch type items.
Their soup of the day was the Leek Soup. Typically this is a pureed soup with leeks and potatoes. The version made today by Stella's had a distinctive leek flavor which was accentuated well with the sour cream (in the middle).
We had ordered a Croissant Sandwich as a light food item. Filled with scrambled eggs, tomatoes and cheddar cheese slices. The fresh and flaky croissant made this dish.

I myself had actually ordered an omelet, but said photo seems to have disappeared (oops). Nevertheless, we had a great time at Stella's and quickly moved on to the rest of the day.
